Isaiah 54:5 For your Maker is your husband.

It felt as if in a moment everything I held dear was gone. My husband and I were married for 36 years, then one evening he unexpectedly died of a heart attack. At the time we were preparing to sell all and move to Mozambique to follow God’s call on our lives. But suddenly that which I had believed was from God for the two of us was no more.

Confused, I cried to the Lord for His counsel to my heart. I soon realized that the Lord’s call to my husband to heaven was no mistake. Therefore, I understood that I was not to regret anything that I have lost. In God’s sovereignty He has taken my husband; just as without His will neither does a leaf glide down from a tree, nor a sparrow fall to the earth. And so I have come to see that our heavenly Father knows how to care for His children and will allow only what He deems best.

I thank God for placing me in this family at Alôn where I can partake in a vibrant daily business, prayer and worship. Also it is a privilege to be so close to my daughter and eldest son who are both married and to enjoy being “ouma” to their beautiful children.
