Testimonies - Prudence

When I look back over the years I’m amazed at my life today. Growing up as a pastor’s daughter did not automatically bring me close to God but made me to be a ‘goody goody’ who did everything right. In the eyes of society I was a good girl.

But when Jesus opened my eyes to see myself more clearly I saw how rotten and ugly my heart really was. Also I recognized how having a real relationship with Jesus is the only real thing that mattered. Change and growth in my character and ways did not happen immediately, it has taken time. And so this journey continues as the Lord is working in me as I, with fear and trembling, work out my salvation.

Today, even though I am only 21, I have a secure life in the Lord and in the community. The love of God’s family I did not always appreciate, but now I see the great blessing there is in being together and helping one another.

Without God’s intervention and the help of others I would have been a loner, leading a depressed and unfulfilled life. But He has turned it all around and now I am loving what I do, working as part of the accountancy team at our offices in the nearby town. I give God all the glory!
