Testimonies - Dempsey & Nerina

In 1989, I was in the South Africa Defence Force and Nerina was studying to be a teacher. At that time we met with the people of Alôn. In those few months God really touched our lives in an amazing way, yet over the years, we slowly backslid, by compromising with the world. This was mostly through chasing our own dreams. And yes, our dream came to pass, for we ended up living in the remote wilderness of Northern Botswana, Africa, running a Safari business. To the world a live that most only dream of, idyllic to the extreme, but…

The reality of living our own dream was a marriage that was breaking up, myself stressed out, worked out, depressed and at times suicidal. Our three daughters growing up in a  very abnormal life. No fellowship, no family close by and friends a very scarce article. Then in our darkest hour, we called on the Lord and He in His mercy answered.

We are back – in His ways and in His dreams for us, which is far better than anything we had wanted could ever be. Our marriage is healing, our family life is restored. Moreover, here at Alôn we are in a real family, we have daily fellowship with our friends and most of all we share life with our new family in Jesus. Truly, His Word and His promises are … seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and He will add all these things to you Matt 6:33
