Before I came to Alon farm, 6 years ago, I was a ‘born again’ believer in Jesus, living in Cape Town with my family. However, immediately when I arrived at Alon what challenged me was to see people who lived the message and did not just speak about serving the Lord and one another. For the first time I was seeing God at work in a real way in people’s lives. Coming from the 'coloured' culture (and living only with 'coloured' people), God has set me free from many cultural limitations. Before it was not easy for me to communicate with other races. I now live with people from many nations and races, coming from many different backgrounds. It is amazing to serve the Lord together with other brothers and sisters. By the grace of God my thinking has expanded and my character developed in this ‘never a dull moment’ life we have together. It is wonderful to have Jesus at the centre and to continually be learning new things as together we go forward in Him. In these six years it has been an amazing journey, I have learned a lot and gained much experience. |
