One generally associates high academic standards with schools that have been established for a long period of time and are financially in the advantageous position to recruit the very best teachers. However, Blue Mountain College, which is a relatively new institution, is achieving exceptional results with students. Our son Joshua Botha has had a history of learning challenges and for the first time in his school career, we have witnessed a remarkable change in his academic results. The small classes are a contributing factor, but it is the dedication and quality of teaching that has been pivotal in the change in him. In addition to academic tuition, there exits at Blue Mountain College the ethic of mentoring; a valuable part of the development of young people which is hardly practised anymore in the Western culture. A strong moral fibre is inculcated into these young minds which is an intrinsic part of the Alon community culture and will benefit these young people in years to come. |
