Testimony of Joshua Botha

(Joshua was a matric student at Blue Mountain College in 2010)

I Every journey begins with a single step.   I started my first few steps in my walk with Jesus at Alon.   My name is Joshua Botha and as a result of my learning problems, I attended nine different schools before I came to Blue Mountain College.  I’ve always had a mountain to climb because my learning problems have always challenged my capability to succeed in life.  Two weeks before I arrived at Alon, I asked Jesus, “What is the point to life, I feel lost.” And I was lost, completely lost but I carried on with the dullness of everyday life.  Two weeks later, I found myself gazing at the large gates of Alon and that was the beginning of my walk with Jesus.  I can look back to all the times that I learned how to calculate a quadratic equation or to understand that I had something of value.  More importantly, I learned that people come first and the only way to become a better person is through Jesus Christ.  My journey as a student at Alon farm has prepared me for the future and I am forever grateful.  I would personally like to thank Jeanette Botes for helping me and guiding me as well as educating me through my three years at Blue Mountain College.
