Twenty years ago myself and Alta moved together with Davit and Sara and 10 other people up north to pioneer a new base on a farm just outside of Tzaneen. Thinking back of those early days, days of testing and trials, not always easy but glorious days filled with hope and expectation. God has brought about miracle upon miracle in the establishment of Alon. Many days seemed dark with no way forward. God has made a way where there seems to be no way, like rivers in the desert. Having come fresh out of bible school of Davit and Sara in Oudtshoorn I could never have imagined beyond my wildest expectations that God would move in a way to bring about the base as we see it today. The Lord has brought expansion over and over. Much fruit is seen today in so many areas, carpentry, farm gardens, school, orphanage, Mosaic restaurant plus He has provided homes… Looking back at all the peoples’ lives that have passed by the farm, which have been changed through the Bible schools and the outreaches have been a big blessing to see. Our lives have been changed by what we have seen and experienced over the years. God has stamped eternity upon our hearts. He is Jehovah Jirah who never fails and is always faithful. On a personal level we have been blessed with three beautiful daughters and just recently a beautiful new home on the base. Looking back, I can really say that our hearts have expanded over and over bringing us closer to Jesus with a love for His people and this home. To give oneself to Him and to do His work is the way to great joy and fulfilment. God has been so faithful to us and given us the best over the years and brought us into a land of abundance. We feel very privileged to be a part of this work and give all glory, honour and praise unto Him for all that He has done. |
