Testimony of Anton & Kyla Cloete

Anton: Since I joined the community in April 2000,  I have seen the Lord’s faithfulness over and over. My wife, Kyla, and I have seen God’s provision in amazing ways. We can testify of the wonderful blessing it has been to share our lives on a daily basis with others and to be accountable to one another. This lifestyle has expanded our hearts, to be interested in people and for God’s kingdom. Before embracing this road of discipleship I used to be a very independent and selfish person. However, God has given me a heart for others and vision for life. I see God’s calling on our lives “to live and move and have our being in Him.” Yet that could never have been possible living my own selfish life. The growth in our hearts God has brought about has come from living together with brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Kyla: I have been living in community here at Alon since 1996. My life has been very blessed and I am living testimony of how God places the lonely in families. Although I am no orphan, like many children in this day and age, I grew up in a dysfunctional home as my parents were divorced when I was 4 years old. But coming to Alon along with my mother at the age of 12 brought about much healing in my life. I am now happily married and have two beautiful children. I teach at the boarding school, Blue Mountain College, here on the base and I love my job and find it extremely fulfilling to know that I can give out to children from all over, who attend our school, from the abundance that Jesus has given to me.

Anton and Kyla: We can truly say we serve a miracle working God...In July 2010 our youngest son Adam, who was 2 months old at the time, developed Hydrocephalus due to a blood-clot in one of the arteries leading to his brain. We had never felt so helpless and could only call on the name of Jesus in our time of need. Thank you Lord for community living because as soon as we understood the seriousness of his condition there was a group of fellow believers standing right outside our house crying out to God for mercy and taking a strong stand for healing while we prepared to go to hospital. Although it was an agonizing experience for us, we always sensed God’s peace and presence with us every step of the way. Through the support and prayer and God’s merciful provision, Adam could get the medical help he needed and he was completely healed after four days! Glory to God!
